Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is one of the most popular mobile games in the world, with millions of players from different countries competing against each other in ranked matches. One of the most significant events in the MLBB competitive scene is the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL), which features the best teams from different regions battling for supremacy and a chance to represent their country in the international stage.

However, despite the game’s popularity and the MPL’s stringent measures to ensure fair play and equal opportunities, there have been instances where some heroes are not selected by any team in the tournament. In the recently concluded MPL Indonesia Season 10, three heroes, namely Akai, Selena, and Grock, were not picked by any team throughout the entire tournament.

Akai, a tank hero, is known for his ability to initiate team fights and control the enemy team’s movements. Selena, a mage/assassin hero, has a unique playstyle that involves switching between long-range and close-range combat, making her a challenging opponent to face. Grock, another tank hero, has a reputation for his durability and damage output, making him a popular pick in both casual and competitive matches.

So why were these three heroes not selected in MPL ID S10? One possible reason is that the current meta in MLBB favors other heroes with similar roles and abilities. For instance, tanks like Khufra and Barats have become very popular in recent times due to their mobility and crowd control skills. Meanwhile, heroes like Ling and Hayabusa have overshadowed Selena as popular assassins due to their better mobility and crowd control options.

Another reason could be due to the teams’ strategy and playstyle. In MLBB, each team has its unique approach to the game, and they may prioritize certain heroes that fit their strategy better. For instance, some teams may focus on split-pushing and tower pressure, which favors heroes like Helcurt and Aldous rather than Akai and Grock, who are better suited for team fights.

Despite not being selected in MPL ID S10, it does not mean that Akai, Selena, and Grock are not viable heroes in MLBB. Each hero has its unique strengths and weaknesses, and skilled players can make them work in different situations with the right strategy and execution. It also highlights the ever-changing nature of the game and how heroes can rise and fall in popularity depending on the meta and player preferences.

In conclusion, while it may be surprising to see some heroes not selected in a competitive tournament like MPL ID S10, it is not uncommon and can be attributed to various factors such as the meta, team strategy, and player preferences. However, it does not mean that these heroes are useless or not viable in MLBB, and skilled players can make them work in different situations with the right strategy and execution.
