The game begins with the player who spawn somewhere randomly. The player plays a character named Steve. With their own creativity, players must be able to survive or just collect various types of items to make something. One of the goals of this game is to defeat a monster called the Ender Dragon, but there are also many players who just want to play for fun with friends.

Does Minecraft include Esports?

Turning a game into an Esports is certainly not easy. The reason is, there are several conditions that must be met in order for a game to become Esports. One of the main conditions is to have a winner or be competitive. Other conditions that must be met such as:

  1. Has a very large player and community
  2. Have adequate funding
  3. The complexity of how to play
  4. Requires intelligence and mentality, and
  5. character balance.

Examples of games that can be categorized as esports include DOTA 2, Mobile Legend, Wild Rift, CS:GO, to Tetris.

From the conditions above, Minecraft misses one important requirement to become an Esports, which is being competitive. But, is it true that Minecraft can’t be an Esports?

In fact, Minecraft can be an Esports provided it can only be done inside Mini-Games. Many Mini-games Minecraft type PvP (Player vs Player) such as Bed Wars, SkyWars, Annihilation, and The Bridges. All Mini-games it has a clear winner like a competitive game and relies on the creativity of the players.

Lots of youtubers and the Minecraft community are trying to make tournaments using Mini-games such as the BedWars Tournamet conducted by hypixel.net and conducted by Mr. Beasts like this.
