Despite being slapped by Will Smith, Chris Rock Reluctant to Report to Police
Chris Rock is reportedly reluctant to report to the police, even though he was just slapped by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars which was held on Sunday (27/3) yesterday.
Yep, Will Smith and Chris Rock are still a hot topic of conversation around the world, because they were involved in a conflict during the 94th Oscars event.
Will Smith recklessly slapped Chris Rock in the face in front of the Oscar audience which made the event silent for a moment. Even so, it is reported that Chris Rock is reluctant to report the incident to the authorities.

Launching from VarietyThe Los Angeles Police (LAPD) said that Chris did not want to report Will Smith’s slapping action to the police.

However, LAPD ensured that if in the future Chris wanted to make a report on the incident, his party would assist Chris in investigating the case thoroughly.
“The investigative entity LAPD is aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one person slapping another. The individuals involved have refused to file a police report. If the parties involved want a police report at a later date, the LAPD will be available to complete the investigative report,” the LAPD said.
Quoted from Kompas (28/3), Will Smith could have been caught in a legal case because of his actions against Chris Rock at the Oscars. If found guilty, Will Smith could face up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
As is known, Will Smith recklessly slapped Chris Rock in the face because his wife’s illness was made a joke by Chris. At that time, Will Smith’s wife was present with a bald head, due to the Alopecia he suffered.
“Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see it. Wow, that’s a really good film,” he said.
Suddenly, the joke invites anger from the husband. Will Smith went straight up on stage and slapped Chris on the cheek really hard.
In a tense situation, Chris had time to say, “Wow, dude that was just a joke about GI Jane,”
Will Smith answered by shouting from the audience, “Don’t you mention my wife’s name,”
“I’ll continue it (the reading of the nominations) okay? It was truly… the best night in television history,” replied Chris Rock.
