As time goes on, more and more HP brands appear, such as Nokia, Samsung, Xiaomi, Apple, Huawei, LG, Realme, Oppo, Vivo and many more.

Recently, the government made a policy to block all illegal smartphones or black market goods, or more specifically, IMEIs that are not registered with the Ministry of Industry.

But before discussing how to check official or illegal IMEI, it’s a good idea to first know what IMEI is.

IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity, which means a unique identity number assigned to a smartphone / cellphone internationally. The point is that every smartphone made has an IMEI that is different from other smartphones.

To find out whether your smartphone is official or illegal, you can follow the following tutorial

Step:
1. First, you first check the IMEI on your cellphone by entering the call and then typing *#06# (all types of HP are the same)

2. Later the IMEI will appear from your smartphone, please copy the IMEI number, if there are two, choose only one.

3. After that, please access the Ministry of Industry website via your browser or CLICK HERE.

4. Then, paste or enter the IMEI code that you copied earlier in the column provided then click Save.

5. Later details will appear from which distributor if your cellphone is official, but if it is illegal then the distributor details will not appear.

If your smartphone is official, then you don’t have to worry about being blocked by Kominfo. The process of blocking illegal cell phones will begin in August 2021. Once the cellphone is blocked, it cannot be used for calls or the internet. This is done in order to reduce the circulation of black market goods without paying excise which can harm the state.

So that’s how to check IMEI at the Ministry of Industry easily, hopefully it’s useful.
