As we know, in July 2022, there has been an update to the latest version, namely 2.8, where there is only one additional 4-star new character, Shikanoin Heizou.

Launching from game8.co, one of the leading Genshin Impact websites, this is the latest tier list of Genshin Impact version 2.8.
You can see for yourself that for the beginning there are all characters starting from Main DPS, Sub DPS and Supports for SS and S tiers. Here there will only be one tier list where their strength can be maximized with or without constellations. So, for example, Xingqiu C6 tier SS means he needs C6 for his maximum potential, it doesn’t mean without C6 or below his performance is lacking but only his best potential is in that constellation.

Play DPS
For the SS Main DPS tier, there are 6 characters, namely Ayaka, Hu Tao C1, Ganyu C1, Arataki Itto C2, Ayato C2 and Raiden Shogun C2.
So, overall, Ayaka without a constellation can be said to be quite good and can be compared to several other Main DPS, it just doesn’t mean that this one character is very OP so it doesn’t need a constellation, only the constellation of Ayaka does not really improve its performance, much different from without a constellation. .
Tier S Main DPS has 5 characters, namely Xiao C1, Tartaglia C0, Eula C1, Yelan, Yoimiya. More or less the same as before, but indeed the strength of the characters in this tier is arguably not as OP as the characters in the SS tier.
Sub DPS
Characters that can be considered as shadow damage agents or off-field damage. It can be through his skill or burst.
For this type, there are 6 characters in the SS tier, namely Raiden Shogun, Xingqiu C6, Xiangling C4, Ayaka, Kazuha and Yelan. The new character Yelan proved to be strong and equal to Xingqiu both in terms of damage and skill use. In addition, of course, there are other characters who have been present in Genshin Impact for a long time.
One tier below it are several familiar characters, namely Fischl C6, Yae Miko C2, Venti, Ganyu, Albedo, Mona, Beidou C2.
These seven characters are also very strong as sub DPS. Although some names look strong too to fill Support.

Support
The support referred to here is a character who has a strong buff, shield or other utility skill that makes Main DPS stronger, thicker or last longer in the field.
There are seven strong characters of SS tier as support here, namely Bennett C1, Kazuha, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, Kokomi, Mona and Yelan. No doubt, their skills are very supportive for your Main and Sub DPS in Genshin Impact.
For tier S there are 8 characters, namely Shenhe C2, Diona C6, Jean C2, Yun Jin C6, Kujou Sara C6, Gorou C6, Sucrose C6, and Venti.
Some of the characters that exist are Shenhe, Yun Jin, Sara, and Gorou, they are quite specific for a few characters. Such as Shenhe which is good for supporting Main DPS Cryo characters such as Ayaka and Ganyu.
It’s a shame that Heizou is not seen in tier SS or tier S on the latest Genshin Impact tier list because Heizou is only in tier A as Main DPS, indeed this hero has not been able to compete with Main DPS which was already present, but Heizou can be an option for Main DPS unique that you can play if you are bored with the characters that existed before.
