Paper Rex Top 3, Clutch 1 vs 4 From Mindfreak Show He’s The World’s Best Controller!

On day 8 of Masters 2 Copenhagen, the only Asia Pacific team left was Paper Rex. After defeating the Guild in the top 8 2-0, they had to face European giants, Fnatic.

Fnatic itself was the EMEA champion team in Stage 2 yesterday and is one of the favorites to win at the Copenhagen Masters.

Many fans from Asia, especially Indonesia want to see a very heated duel between the champions of APAC and EMEA. Fans want to see if the current Southeast Asian team is very far from the best European teams, or are we really on par with them?

It seems we saw the answer last night when Paper Rex was able to advance to the Upper Bracket Finals after defeating Fnatic 2-0.

Paper Rex Mindfreak 1 vs 4 Clutch Play

In this match, apart from the brilliant performances of PRX Jinggg and PRX f0rsakeN, there is another player to watch out for, namely Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart.

In map 1 Ascent against Fnatic, mindfreak was the player who brought Paper Rex 1-0 up in the map pick from Fnatic itself.

With 318 ACS and 28 Kills, 14 Deaths and 8 Assists, mindfreak is the MVP for this map. One of the most important rounds in this match was in round 21 where mindfreak did the impossible clutch, namely 1 vs 4.

The reason Mindfreak’s performance is so different from last year

Aaron himself also gave a little explanation why his performance was very different from 2021 and 2022. In an interview on the Clutch Podcast by Bella Heartfire, mindfreak revealed the difference in his performance this time.

Mindfreak said whether it was last year or his first year at Valorant, he really hated this game. And every time he played, he always felt annoyed and angry.

In 2022, it’s like Aaron has got the answer to play Valorant. He said where now he has received Valorant and can enjoy playing this game.

Now he is also playing more freely and enjoys playing with his current team. Currently he is playing Valorant because he wants to be the best and it seems he has proven it with his current performance!
