Alleged Plagiarism League of Legends, Riot Games Sues Mobile Legends Again

Suara.com – Riot Games, the developer of the League of Legends (LoL) game, has again sued Moonton Games as the developer of Mobile Legends (ML).

Previously in 2022, Riot had sued Moonton on charges of imitating parts of League of Legends.

However, this was rejected by a California court requiring Riot to proceed with the lawsuit in a Chinese court.

The lawsuit ended with Tencent Holdings, the parent company of Riot Games, winning a lawsuit worth $2.9 million.

The lawsuit this time covers some similarities in the campaign, trailer, and in-game skins.

Riot also complained to Google to remove Mobile Legends from the Play Store.

After being deleted, it seems that Moonton has secretly launched a mini version of Mobile Legends, as stated in the lawsuit.

From these demands, Riot Games documented all the comparisons such as the campaign, character designs, trailers, even reactions from the community.
