“Xiaomi appreciates the support that has been given by the Indonesian government in this project. Xiaomi fans and users in Indonesia have always supported our brand, something we are always proud of. Through this initiative, we hope to be able to help Indonesian citizens through CSR activities as a company that has social responsibility,” said Alvin Tse, Country Director of Xiaomi Indonesia.

By using the speed of the electric wave, Xiaomi will notify its users a dozen seconds before the secondary wave arrives. In this way, everyone who is in the area indicated by the earthquake can save themselves to a safer place.

Keep in mind, this notification will only appear when the earthquake reaches the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) scale IV that has been set by the BMKG.

For details, this feature will display the scale of the earthquake in terms of magnitude, estimated arrival of the earthquake and also the intensity of the earthquake.

Furthermore, this feature can only be used for Smartphones that already use the MIUI 12, MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 13 operating systems. Then, you must turn on the internet connection for the feature to be active.
