Revealed! This is the rating obtained by Doctor Strange 2

The rating obtained by Doctor Strange 2 was finally revealed through an official announcement from the Motion Picture Association. Can anyone guess how many ratings the film will get?

As is known, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled for release in early May 2022. Prior to its release, the film, directed by Sam Raimi, was reviewed by MPA in order to get the appropriate rating.

Now, the rating has finally been revealed and caused quite a big disappointment for some of his fans. Well, how come? Here SPIN gives the reason for you.

Doctor Strange 2’s Official Rating Finally Announced!

Reported from Movie Ratings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ‘only’ gets a PG-13 rating, which means it’s still under parental guidance. In its statement, Film Ratings also gave a reason why this film was given a PG-13 rating.

“Rated PG-13 for intense action and violence, terrifying graphics, and multiple language,” wrote Film Ratings.

This rating also caused disappointment from Marvel fans. The reason is, they had hoped that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would get a rating above PG-13, so that the horror scenes in it could be more intense.

FYI, the previous sequel, Doctor Strange (2022) also received the same rating in the year it was released. In this way, the tension that is presented can be not much different, guys.

Even so, Sam Raimi certainly has tried his best to bring the impression of horror in the film. Now, he only hopes that his audience will be satisfied with what he has done.

On one occasion, Sam Raimi once told about Scott Derrickson (director of Doctor Strange 1) who had wanted to make his film more horror. However, his intention was not realized due to reasons he did not mention.

“I think what (Kevin) meant, from my point of view, was this film has a sense of horror. I think when the original director, Scott Derrickson, and Kevin promoted the arrival of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Strange 2), they were saying that it would be the first Marvel superhero film to have a horror element. I hope I do it,” Raimi said.

“I didn’t misquote them. But even after Scott left the image due to creative differences, it was still his mandate to make the first Marvel movie with horror elements. So I stay true to their original statement.”
