Pokemon GO Championship Series 2022 Officially Announced

Niantic has just announced that the first Pokemon GO Championship Series is coming in 2022. This will provide an opportunity for trainers around the world to battle each other to find the best of the best. The winners will also be given the opportunity to participate in the Invitational 2022 Pokemon World Championships.

The first iteration of the Pokémon GO Championship Series will feature regional and international championships. The top Pokemon GO players from the tournament will get an invite to the coveted 2022 Pokemon GO Championship Series.

There will be two age groups for the contest:

  • Senior Division: Born between 2006 and 2009
  • Masters Division: Born in 2005 or earlier

Registration will be done in two stages. Trainers who reach Legend Rank in the ongoing Pokemon GO Battle League Season will be allowed to register earlier than others, during the first few months of 2022. After this closing, the remaining spots may be occupied by others. The current Pokemon GO Battle League season will last until November 29, so players have until then to reach Legend Rank. The second wave of championship participants will occur in the next Pokemon GO Battle Season.

Each participant who registers for the Pokemon GO Championship Series must link their Pokemon GO account to their Pokemon Trainer Club Account. They also have to have Play! Pokemon Player ID or create an account if you don’t have one, and select Play! Terms of Use.

At the moment, not much is known about what format or prizes will be awarded for later tournaments, but all the necessary information is available on the official Play! Pokemon site.

Well, what are you waiting for? Download Pokémon GO now! This game is free to play on App Store and Google Play and earn Legend Rank in the current Pokemon GO Battle League Season.
