Honkai Star Rail Officially Announced, New JRPG from MiHoYo

Last week a rumor circulated in the gaming community that miHoYo, the developer of Genshin Impact, was working on a new game called Honkai Star Rail. It is believed that the game was accidentally uploaded on the App Store and, of course, was noticed by players. However, after a few hours, the game was taken down.

But after miHoYo officially announced Honkai Star Rail, this game turned out to be not a rumor. MiHoYo also released a teaser image while a dedicated social media channel for the game was also live. The developer has also announced that they will be opening registrations for the upcoming beta test soon.

miHoYo just revealed Honkai Star Rail at the Starfire Sonorant concert during Honkai Impact’s 3rd anniversary celebrations. This will be a new mobile JRPG. For now, the company hasn’t shared many details about the game. They just shared a teaser image which you can see below.

Alongside the teaser image, miHoYo has announced that the game’s first closed beta registration event will begin on October 8. If miHoYo follows the same pattern as they did with the pre-release beta test for Genshin Impact, the beta for Honkai Star Rail will be out soon, and players shouldn’t be bound by the NDA either, which means we can expect to see plenty of in-game screenshots. and outstanding gameplay videos.

Judging from the leaks, Honkai Star Rail is a turn-based JRPG that will give players an open world experience. It will feature many famous characters that have previously appeared in the miHoYo game. Just like in Honkai Impact, in Honkai Star Rail players will form teams of three and take on enemies. In the leaked screenshot, there appears to be an element symbol above the enemy’s head, which means the game could feature an element system where type countering will be one of its main features.
