Bandai Namco Gundam Metaverse Project Coming Soon

Bandai Namco Group is reportedly ready to launch its newest project, Gundam Metaverse. They are also willing to spend a lot of money to work on the project.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. is a company from Minato-ku, Tokyo, that serves as a developer and publisher of video games. Founded on March 31, 2006, Bandai Namco also released several other entertainment products that are still closely related to their intellectual property.

Now, the company that was built by Masaya Nakamura wants to develop its business by participating in diving into the world of Metaverse which is currently being loved by many people.

Bandai Namco Ready to Work on the Gundam Metaverse World

Quote from The Verge, this Metaverse project will contain video games, anime, music, to Gunpla (model-building Gundam). In total, Bandai Namco had to spend USD 130 million or around Rp. 1.8 trillion to develop this latest innovation.

“This virtual community will merge with the Gundam world as the virtual space will be created in the form of a space colony, which will be connected to the Gundam metaverse space hub under the name SIDE-G,” said Koji Fujiwara, Chief Gundam Officer (CGO) Bandai Namco Group and GUNDAM Business Supervisor.

“Bandai Namco Group will go beyond conventional digital services and use its power to combine the digital and physical worlds, so look forward to more to come,” continued Fujiwara.

This project will be used as the main pillar to build a bigger project after 2026. For 2023, Bandai Namco is also reportedly ready to develop the world of Esports.

“To grow to a larger scale after 2026, Bandai Namco will promote the development of each colony with the Gundam Metaverse as the pillar of the group,” Bandai Namco wrote in its official statement.

“To mark the start of ‘Esports Colony,’ the first-person shooter (FPS) game ‘Gundam Evolution’ will be officially released in 2022,” he added.

It is known, the company has also launched an entertainment venue that utilizes blockchain technology, VR/AR/xR, artificial intelligence, and Web3 named Bandai Namco Entertainment 021 Fund.
