Australian Department Store, OTR Accept Payment Using Crypto

An Australian convenience store or department store, namely OTR (On The Run) has officially accepted crypto payments at its 170 outlets spread across South Australia and Victoria. In this way, crypto owners can freely shop at this supermarket.

On The Run (OTR) is an Australian supermarket or convenience store that also provides a gas station that is open 24 hours non-stop.

Initially, this supermarket only provided payment methods using conventional currencies, guys. But now, On The Run has officially accepted payment using cryptocurrency which is currently a hit all over the world.

In carrying out this latest innovation, OTR collaborates with a digital asset exchange based in Singapore, namely Crypto.com. In total, this supermarket will accept 30 types cryptocurrencyincluding Bitcoin (BTC).

Karl Mohan, General Manager of Crypto.com Asia Pacific said that all On The Run customers will be able to make payments for goods and services through crypto currency easily and quickly.

“Today, we made a further breakthrough in accelerating adoption cryptocurrency Australia. Customers can now pay for goods and services via Crypto.com Merchant Pay at all OTR stores,” said Karl Mohan.

The service will be fully operational in July 2022 at 170 OTR branches across the states of Southern Australia and Victoria. Payment system provider from Sydney, namely Datamesh is also reportedly ready to present a Point of Sale terminal that can be used to pay for goods purchased through the Crypto.com application.

Yasser Shahin, executive chairman at Peregrine said the innovation brought by On The Run to use crypto as a legal tender is a reflection of the surge in usage. cryptocurrency in Australia that has been felt since the last few months.
