The best build for Xinyan in Genshin Impact

Want to know how to get Xinyan in Genshin Impact? You know how we all just want to be big rockstars and live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars? Well, thanks to Xinyan, we can. One of the two new characters to arrive in Genshin Impact’s latest banner—alongside Geo fighter Zhongli—is Pyro-infused rocker Xinyan.

According to game lore, Chuck Berry must be from Fontaine, because that’s where rock ‘n’ roll music comes from. Xinyan, a la Michael J. Fox in Back To The Future, is responsible for bringing this strange new voice to Liyue. He’s not just a musician: He builds his own guitar, comes out of an ax (got one?), and can do some real damage in battle. So, I’m here to help with the choice of building the great Genshin Impact Xinyan.

How to get Xinyan in Genshin Impact

Xinyan is part of the limited Gentry Of Heritage banner, as a four-star character alongside the four-star character razor and Chongyun. The headliner of this banner is Zhongli, and the real answer to ‘how do you get Xinyan in Genshin Impact’ is ‘by trying to get Zhongli’.

As a four-star character, Xinyan has a 3.3% drop rate, just like Razor and Chongyun in Gentry Of Heritage. You’ll have to get lucky (or rip Pity Pull) for Zhongli, but Xinyan is the realistic way for most players.

Overview of Genshin Impact Xinyan

Xinyan is a DPS fighter, Pyro, Claymore, making him a Diluc with slightly worse stats. Fortunately, you have a much better chance of attracting him, so if you are looking for an alternative to the red-headed winery boss, let Xinyan be the center of attention.

Like all four-star characters, he’s not the ideal choice for any team, but he looks set to fill a pretty big gap in the roster. We have two great Pyro DPS fighters in Diluc and Klee, but as a five-star, both are rare. After that, we have Xiangling, who is best suited for Support, and Amber, who is best suited for… Well, nothing. Xinyan is more readily available than Diluc and Klee, and better suited to dealing a lot of damage quickly than Xiangling, so can be an effective member of a proper party.

1) Normal attack : Dancing On Fire

• Normal Attack : Xinyan does four quick attacks with her Claymore.

• Loaded Attack : Xinyan spins in succession, draining Stamina. At the end of the round, Xinyan made a powerful slash.

• Plunge Attack : Xinyan slams down, dealing AOE damage the moment she lands.

2) Elemental Skills : Sweeping Fervor

Xinyan took out her guitar, dealt Pyro’s damage and formed a shield made of screaming fans. The absorption of the shield is more effective as Xinyan’s defense increases and as she hits more enemies. The maximum boost to hit an enemy is three, which will increase his Pyro damage as well. This shield is 250 percent effective against Pyro, and leaves Xinyan infused with Pyro when it expires.

3) Elemental Burst : Riff Revolution

Xinyan strummed her guitar and jumped at the nearest enemy, dealing physical damage. When he jumps around, he will deal Pyro damage.

4) Passive

“The show continues, even without an audience…”: Reduces the number of enemies Sweeping Fervor has to hit to reach max level by one. “…Now That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!”: Characters guarded by Sweeping Fervor deal 15 percent extra physical damage. Rad Recipe: Xinyan has 12 percent to double when perfectly cooking a def boosting dish.

5) Constellations

• Fatal Acceleration: After a Critical Hit, Xinyan’s Normal and Charged Attack Speed is boosted by 12 percent for five seconds. It can only happen once every five seconds.

• Impromptu unlock: Revolution Riff’s Physical Damage has a 100 percent critical hit rate increase, and will start with a maximum boost.

• Double Stop: Sweeping Fervor’s level increased by three.

• Forest Fire Rhythm: Sweeping Fervor reduces the enemy’s Physical Resistance by 15 percent for 12 seconds.

• Shout for Encore : Riff Revolution rate increased by three.

• Shake on Flaming : Reduces Xinyan’s stamina consumption on Dance On Fire attacks, and gives her an Attack bonus equal to 50 percent of her Defense stats.

Genshin Impact Xinyan build: Example setup

Xinyan is a DPS fighter, and not as lenient as the others, which means she doesn’t really fit into the Support role, or the Tank role, or… anything but DPS. For that reason, the buildings he suggests here are divided by rarity rather than type.

4 star weapon

Obviously, 5-star weapons in the game are better than 4-star weapons, but since Xinyan is basically pitched as a Diluc-lite, it’s likely that many people with her are closer to the free-to-play type than whales. With that in mind, showing only the rarest of weapons seemed foolish.

• Aminus Prototype – Destroy : When hit, Normal or Charged Attacks have a 50 percent chance to deal an additional 300 percent attack damage to enemies in low AoE. It can only happen once every 15 seconds.

5 star weapon

If you’re lucky enough – or have pumped enough money – to own some 5-star Claymores, you can make Xinyan almost as good as Diluc.

• Wolf’s Gravestone – Wolfish Tracker : Increases attack by 20 percent. When hit, attacks against enemies with LESS than 30 percent HP increases all party member attacks by 40 percent for 12 seconds. It can only happen once every 30 seconds.

Artifact

• Crimson Witch Of Flames Set : 2 parts: 15 percent extra Pyro damage. 4 parts: 40 percent extra Overload and melting damage. The effect caused by Vaporize and Melt has an additional 15 percent effect. For ten seconds after using Elemental Burst, your 2 piece bonus set has a 50 percent boost, up to three times.

• Gladiator’s Finale Set : 2 parts: 18 percent extra attack damage. 4 parts: 35 percent extra attack damage for Claymore attacks. Basically, Crimson Witch Of Flames makes Xinyan a better Pyro fighter, while Final Gladiator makes her better in regular battles. Crimson Witch is a better choice, but also harder to come by, so Gladiator’s Finale is a good alternative.
