How to Upgrade Tools in Harvest Moon Back to Nature
Upgrading a tool or tools is useful for saving time, effort, and completing work that requires you to upgrade the tool first.
However, not all tools can be upgraded. Only tools that are already available at the beginning of the game such as hammer, ax, sickle, hoe, and watering can, can be upgraded.
Now, each of these tools can later be upgraded up to 4x in Saibara Blacksmith, but you can also upgrade immediately to save costs. For more details about upgrading tools, you can see the steps for upgrading tools in Harvest Moon Back to Nature as follows.
Steps to Upgrade Tools in Harvest Moon Back to Nature
1. Make sure the XP of the tool is sufficient
Xp of the tool you want to upgrade is what is needed to be able to upgrade the tool. To see it, you can press the start button and the left direction. Then a list of tools will appear along with the xp of each tool in percent form.
At least in order to upgrade your tool you need a minimum of 100%, 200%, 300%, and a maximum of 400% (with the xp that you have used previously also counted). Meanwhile, to increase the xp of the tool you just need to use it by pressing the square button.
2. Have the required ore
When viewing the xp of the tool you will also see an ore icon under each tool. The ore icon appears together with the total xp that you have got, namely:
Copper (Copper) at 100% xp total
Silver (Silver) at 200% total xp
Gold (Gold) at a total xp 300%
Mystrile (Diamond) at total xp 400%
The appearance of the ore icon on a certain total xp means that you need or have been able to upgrade a tool with that ore. But keep in mind you can’t use the same ore to upgrade one tool, but you have to use a higher ore.
3. Have gold for fees
In addition to xp and ore you also need gold for the cost of upgrading the tool. The gold required ranges from 1000-5000 to upgrade it.
4. Upgrading tools in Saibara Blacksmith
After completing the 3 steps above you can move the tool you want to upgrade to your equipment (can press R1 to select it) and remove the required ore from the bag and go to Saibara Blacksmith (open 10am-4pm, Thursday and festival closed).
Then talk to Saibara so that 3 options appear. Choose the first one to upgrade the tool, pay the fee, and agree on the time needed (3 days).
Then you will automatically exit Saibara Blacksmith and wait 3 days later to pick up the upgraded tool. So make sure you empty one tool slot in your bag so you can pick up the upgraded tool.
Up here you have successfully upgraded the tool and the example above gamelmit is to upgrade the watering can to max level in one upgrade with xp 400%, mystrile ore, and the cost required is 5000 G. upgrade compared to 4x upgrade then you will cost 2x as much.
So, it is recommended that if you want to save costs, you can wait until the xp of the tool reaches 400% and upgrade it directly with mysterile ore and 5000 G at Saibara Blacksmith. Because increasing xp itself is fairly easy, you only need to use it by pressing the square button.
