GAMEFINITY.ID, Singkawang – The Indonesian government, through the General of Taxes (DGT), has added the list of companies that have to pay VAT. A total of 8 companies from the fields of educational games, e-commerce and software were added to the list.

Among them are the Xsolla company and PT Dua Empat Jam Online, who were appointed by the General of Taxes. The two companies are companies that make online gaming coupons like Free Fire, Mobile Legends, and even PUBG Mobile. With the meaning that the buyers of online gaming vouchers have to pay a predetermined tax.

Aside from the 2 companies listed above, the remaining 6 are TunnelBear LLC, Padlee.com Market Limited, Pluralsight LLC, Automattic Inc., Woocommerce Inc., and Bright Market LLC.

With the ordinance released on June 1, 2021, these companies will have to levy taxes at a set value on every product they sell. The determined value is 10%. With the note that the VAT amount of 10% must be included in the invoice issued by the seller as proof of tax collection.

In the case of certain marketplaces, VAT is only levied on the sale of digital goods and services by foreign sellers who sell through the marketplace.
