Hitekno.com – Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok, is increasingly entering the gaming industry. Most recently it was reported that Moonton will take over developers from Mobile Legends.

This Chinese company itself has long expressed its desire to get into the gaming industry. Which will later compete with Tencent and NetEase, two Chinese gaming giants.

Reported Techcrunch, Bytedance has started aggressively recognizing the gaming company side since 2021. In fact, at least 11 companies were fully acquired.

Most recently, Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners, TikTok’s parent company, reported on the acquisition of Moonton. Namely the developer of the Mobile Legends game.

According to Daniel Ahmad, this is Bytedance’s largest acquisition this year. Also as an effort to strengthen its position in the games industry.

For your information, Mobile Legends is a mobile game featuring the most popular MOBA genre. It is one of the most popular games, especially for the Southeast Asian market.

Because of its popularity, the game developed by this Shanghai-based company has a number of up to 90 million active players. And Southeast Asia is the main market for mobile legends.

Even according to this analyst report from Niko Partners, Moonton’s game had sales of up to $ 1 million. And more and more popular over time.

On the other hand, Bytedance itself continues to grow with the increasing popularity of TikTok. The Chinese company is also expanding its products beyond short video platforms.

Bytedance now employs around 2000 people for the various services. And this is still the first step for the company to continue growing.

Unfortunately, there was no endorsement from Bytedance or Moonton until this report was published. Will there be an impact on the developers of Mobile Legends and TikTok?
